India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Bill had passed three weeks earlier when I joined this six-speaker panel at the Techno India Centre of Excellence in Salt Lake. Most of the audience came in worried about compliance dates.
What I tried to talk about was what the law would actually mean operationally – how it changes consent, how it changes breach notification, and how unprepared most Indian organisations still were for the shift from intent to enforcement. A useful evening, and a panel I would happily sit on again.
